"I feel it is important to know a little bit about the person you choose to work with. Please enjoy this snapshot of me and my businesses"-Rebecca

MY STORY

ARHJAY was founded by Rebecca after working within the community development, community services and project management sector for twenty years.  The majority of her experience being in local government, however she has also been very active in the not for profit community organisation sector as a contractor and a volunteer.

‘The favourite part of my role was working within a team to develop a project idea, designing the project and see the project completed.  Seeing something that you have designed and managed become reality is extremely rewarding’-Rebecca.

After many years working in project management it was clear that one of the favourite stages of the project was the design phase.  This is what pushed Rebecca to extend her expertise by enrolling to complete her residential draftsperson training. Rebecca aims to complete this qualification later in 2023 and be able to offer additional services to her clients.

Rebecca grew up in the Country and her people personality is definitely a strength that allows her to work with individuals, organisations and communities to be able to design, plan and implement projects.

A little bit about Rebecca.......

Rebecca grew up on her families wheat and sheep broadacre farm east of the small community of Lake King.  From a young age Rebecca was drawn to people and sport.  In late primary school her family moved from their farm to the South West where she completed schooling. Her favourite subjects throughout high school were woodwork, technical drawing, physical education studies and of course sport.  When finishing school Rebecca ventured to the mid-west to complete her Diploma of Recreation Development.  Here she entered into the aquatic industry becoming a swimming teacher and working reception at the local aquatic facility whilst studying.

In 2004 Rebecca moved to the north eastern Wheatbelt to take on the role of Community Development Officer for a local Council.   Moving to the country to gain some hands-on experience once completing her Diploma was only supposed to be a temporary arrangement.  Little did she know that this country town would become her home for almost 20 years.  Over this time she completed her Diploma of Project Management, completed her Pool Technical Officer Training, worked for a not for profit farm group , became a mum and ended up back in local government as a Coordinator of Community Development.

Over 20 years, Rebecca developed a passion for regional communities and absolutely loved working to develop projects and designs to improve her community and region.  Although project management was still an enjoyable part of her role, she became particularly fond of the design element of projects.  Going back to her love of woodwork and technical drawing back in school, Rebecca enrolled in residential drafting.  After living in regional WA her whole life, in 2023 Rebecca made the choice to move closer to her family.  Although not the small country town she is used to, she has chosen an area where she can still get that sense of community and be surrounded by nature in the Perth Hills.

What else do you need to know, she is youngest of six children, she still enjoys sport, however the body isn’t what it used to be.  She enjoys gardening, camping, fishing, bush walking and catching up with friends and family.
